Synchrony Premier World Mastercard® Review
Streamlined cash back rewards are the norm with the Synchrony Premier World Mastercard®. The card provides unlimited 2% cash back rewards on every purchase, with no confusing restrictions, for no annual fee.
Earn Unlimited 2% Cash Back
The Synchrony Premier World Mastercard offers unlimited cash back with every purchase. The card’s earning rate – 2% back on all eligible purchases – is comparable with several other leading credit cards on the market. The Citi® Double Cash Card and TD Bank Double Up cards are the most notable competitors.
However, unlike those other cards, Synchrony’s 2% back card doesn’t offer an impressive range of award options. Cash back with the Synchrony Premier World Mastercard applies toward statement credits and nothing else. All cash rewards are automatically credited to the account holder’s statement every month.
While the lack of redemption options, such as gift cards, travel, or even direct deposits, is frustrating, it provides a streamlined rewards process that offers significant value for consumers who want a credit card that offers rewards to offset the statement balance the Synchrony Card does well.
Other Comparable Cash Back Options
The Premier Mastercard occupies a very busy place in the credit ward market. Numerous banks offer an unlimited cash back card for average to good credit – here are three other leading offers:

Competitive APR on Purchases and Transfers
The Premier World Mastercard also features a highly competitive APR on both purchases and balance transfers for qualified applicants. Applicants with excellent credit can anticipate a purchase APR of around 14% with the card, which is very competitive compared to the national average APR for a cash rewards credit card. Even better, that rate also applies to balance transfers.
Unfortunately, the Premier World Mastercard doesn’t feature any promotional APR periods – including 0% APR. Still, the rates on offer with the Synchrony Premier World Mastercard are noteworthy for a no-annual fee credit card.
Other Synchrony Cash Back Cards
Synchrony offers three proprietary credit cards, each designed for a unique credit profile:

Other Card Features
For a World Mastercard, the Synchrony Premier World Mastercard lacks many perks from this premium card type. While the card features the usual World Mastercard benefits (ShopRunner membership, World VIP Concierge, access to the Mastercard Luxury Hotel Collection, and more), it lacks introductory offers (APR and cash back), luxury perks, no foreign transaction fees, or other commonly-found features.
That’s not to say that the Premier World Mastercard is barren of benefits. It offers no annual fee, for example – always a welcome perk. Additionally, cardholders enjoy EMV chip technology (including mobile wallet compatibility with Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay, and more), cell phone protection when paying the bill with the Synchrony Premier World Mastercard, Lyft, and Hello Fresh credits, and more.
Other notable features include:
- DoorDash DashPass membership
- Mastercard Priceless Experiences
- Zero Fraud Liability

Should You Apply for the Synchrony Premier World Mastercard?
The Synchrony Premier World Mastercard® is about as no-nonsense a cash back rewards credit card as you’ll find – and that isn’t a bad thing necessarily. The card offers unlimited 2% cash back on all purchases and a competitive APR – all for no annual fee. The solitary redemption option with the card – statement credit – isn’t ideal but does provide value for those who want something to provide payment protection and ease of processing – and then want to use rewards to pay down the balance. In this role, the Synchrony Premier World Mastercard ® performs well.
